Cassia, A Spice Mouse

 

Cassia is the last of a series of spice mice I made in autumn tones. She has a hand appliqued and embroidered dress on a plain yet rich brown cotton. Her underskirts are picked up in the applique flowers on her dress and finished with wooden buttons. Cassia is a type of bark used as a spice and I thought the wooden buttons seemed right.
She has tiny leather shoes and a sampler sachet to coordinate. To her stuffing there are rose petals for a gentle scent with a piece of carnelian at her heart.
Still only seven inches tall she is a tiny piece of the coming autumn and such a joy to make.
