Ellisa, The Snow Queen's Daughter

Ellisa is the Snow Queen's daughter from an old folk tale my
Grandma would tell me as a child. I loved the idea of a little winter princess. Dressed in a cool winter blue
Acufactum print called Mini Christmas Roses she is a winter doll rather than a Christmas one. Everything about her is ice and snow.
With a Rowan yarn ice blue bobble hat and a warm wool felt winter cloak she is ready to walk in the snow. Her stout felt boots keep her toes nice and warm.
She is a sweet little girl with white snowy hair like her mother but with soft grey eyes and a gentle smile. She is a gentle girl, who defies her cruel mother and lets all the animals free from their prison in the Snow Queen's dungeon.
She was a joy to make and I hope you like her xx

New Fairytale and Fable Dolls on the way

I am working on new Fairytale and Fable dolls for the shop. Having worked through my commissions I am making dolls for my Folksy shop. This little Bo Peep doll has sold but there will be Goldilocks, Beatrix and the Tale of Two Bad Mice and Curly Locks with her strawberries.
Just this moment I am working on The Snow Queen's Daughter and then little Marie Antoinette Maid. These are all waiting to be photographed as we have all had the lurgy and it has knocked Reuban quite hard so I am not pressuring them to take my photographs.
Managed to get into the woods yesterday to start planting more bulbs, great fun but my hands are killing me now and we haven't even started to cut back all the shrubs. I love my garden and all the wildlife there in but sometimes you wish it was half the size. So much to do in autumn but loving every minute xx

Acorn, An Autumn Squirrel

The last of the new squirrels on the shop, this is Acorn. With a little bronze acorn to her sampler pillow. Dressed in a mustard Liberty tana lawn called Mitsi Valeria. I have only seen this colourway once and I had just enough to make my girl. Teamed with a mustard shot cotton and white tulle lace petticoats the orange in the pattern picks up the orange in the squirrel.
With a hand embroidered face, fuzzy felt ears and an embroidered tail this little girl is leading into autumn colours. She has carnelian to her heart with chamomile in her stuffing. Finished with tiny buttons, organza ribbon and leather shoes.
I would love to get my hands on more of this fabric but have never seen any anywhere!

Rosa, A Nod to Valentine's Day

Rosa is a little Fairy God Mother with a nod to Valentine's Day. With hearts to her sampler pillow both stitched and as charms. She carries a little heart shaped wand to bestow the gift of love.
She has a piece of rose quartz to her heart and rose petals in her stuffing for romance with a tiny coronet in her hair.
Her dress is made from Acufactum cotton fabric in a raspberry red and rose pink confection called Simply Love. Beneath she sports broderie anglais drawers with red cotton and white tulle lace petticoats. Her shoes are raspberry leather. She is a sweet girl with a quiet joy to her.
