Tuesday Talent, Parico22

 Parico22 is a Japanese lady I follow on instagram and that is all I know about her.  I don't understand Japanese so that when I visit her site I cannot follow the writing but I am absolutley smitten with her cats and her rabbits. These are real works of art and so adorable to boot.

Their clothes are removable, they have little leather shoes and hand styled accessories, I find them utterly appealing. Usagi, Cat uses German mohair from Steiff Schulte and she stands about 30cm tall.

Tuesday Talent, Edith Blue Dolls

 Two doll makers, creative friends, Gilly and Jill make these delightful cloth dolls from a little wooden cabin at the bottom of their garden in Woodbridge in the county of Suffolk. A beautiful part of England in the east of the country.

It is the faces and the lovely details I find so appealing. The faces are hand embroidered in a distinct style and the hair is usually yarn with interesting clothes and little accessories all in varying fabrics and yarns. They use a lot of Liberty a particular favourite of mine.

Moppiedoll from Holland

Found these pretty dolls on Etsy when looking for new doll makers.  Jessica makes dolls in Middenmeer near Amsterdam and lives with a growing family and three cats.

The dolls are not porcelain but Fimo professional  polymer clay made with a wire armature.  Each doll is unique being sculpted not cast and they have hand painted faces.  Their clothes and the details of the faces are lovely with touching expressions and real individuality.

Edith Blue Dolls

 These lovely little girls are by an English company called Edith Blue Dolls.  They are made by a couple of very creative ladies called Gilly and Jill deep in the English countryside in Woodbridge in Suffolk.  They work in a log cabin in the woods surrounded by a wild flower meadow - sounds heavenly.

Having followed creative pathways they decided to work together and began making small dolls for fun.  These became bigger and more detailed and they had such a good time Edith Blue Dolls was born.

I love the detail, the Liberty prints and little knitted accessories.  I adore the slightly off centre faces that are so delicately embroidered and the fligh away hair.  Just lovely to look at and I am again covetous of one of their girls.

I fell in love with this little lady in Liberty Lawn with the fair hair but there are red heads and other styles to look at.  Really like the idea of wool stuffing and the plastic free packaging, a great little English company.

Tuesday Talent - SvetlanaToykka

 I am completely in love, my daughter brought me Braith the Badger for my birthday and I adore her.  I got the fox lady for Christmas and I like her but this badger is just great.

The talented designer maker is Svetland Toykka from Tolyatti, Russia.  She is a professional dress maker turned toy maker and her craftsmanship shines through.  Each doll is beautifully finished, with the perfect tal and dressed, I just wish they had knickers!

She has two shops on Etsy, TweedyLand and CosyRiverCottage.  Each site has slightly different styles of doll  but they could sit together very well.

Svetlana makes foxes, wolves, hedgehogs and so much more.  All in natural fabrics especially Tweed. Check out her pages on Etsy, well worth a look.

Tuesday Talent - Elana Garus

 Elana Garus is a Russian artist from the Moscow region of Russia.  And that really is all I know about the lady.  However I know I really love her dolls.

She makes two styles of doll, one all cloth and this style with a baked plastic face, hand and feet.  They are dressed impeccably with lovely details.

They are quite small, standing around nine or ten inches.

Tuesday Talent - Anna&Claude

Anna and Claude are a relatively new company on the doll scene.  Anna is the designer maker and Claude was her beloved ginger tom who sadly passed away.

Anna is from Bath in England and formerly worked in the fashion industry.  She makes the most beautiful dolls.

Their faces are hand embroidered and their hair hand styled wool tops.  Sumptuous fabrics are used to dress the dolls, ostrich feathers, antique lace and silks.  Each one is boxed and numbered - a real heirloom doll.

Tuesday Talent - Lera Sherhoeva

This lady I discovered on Etsy at LerushaShop.  Her little dolls are exquisitely made with lots of lovely details and the most amazing outfits.  You can buy an individual doll or a doll with a whole wardrobe, so special for that little girl who loves dolls.  For this not so little girl also, who still loves dolls.

Her name is Lera Sherhoeva and she comes from Vladivostok, so another very talented Russian maker.  There are so many wonderful Russian doll makers.

Lera also has a great Instagram page at lera_sherhoeva and a website at lerusha.com where you will also find very attractive dresses and blouses for little girls.

If you a looking for something special for a special little girl this winter try the Etsy shop, the dolls are so reasonable and so beautifully made.

Tuesday Talent - Irina Lemeshinsky

 Irina Lemeshinsky is an Israeli doll maker that sells under the name of Totootse Dolls.  She has a strong presence on Pinterest, Instagram and has a shop on Etsy.

She states that her dolls are an attempt at dialogue with the universe and with her fellow human beings.  They certainly make you pause.  Made from linen, wool, wire and with hypnotic eyes you can almost feel they know more than they are letting on.

I love them all but I am a sucker for a doll with pink hair.  I like the sombre clothes, the dark linen skin and their haunting expressions.  I think I may have to start saving up for one for my own collection.

Not spooky, but knowing maybe just right for Halloween.  My very best wishes to you all on All Hallows Eve.

Tuesday Talent - Annie Montgomerie

 Annie Montgomerie is a wonderful doll maker from Dorchester in the south of England.  She is well known for her animal dolls, little anthropomorphic characters with stunning detail and intriguing personalities.  She upcycles lots of materials and her dolls are choc full of individual quirks and details.

Recently however I came across her rather lovely cloth dolls featuring lots of embroidery, applique and hand stitching.  Annie has a website at anniemontgomerie.co.uk, she has a Facebook page also, but to find these stunning fabric dolls you need to go to Pinterest.  There you will find so many different versions of these long ladies you won't be able to stop pinning.  I love these dolls.

You will find the whole world in these dolls - there are seaside dolls, piggy dolls or pastoral field - so many variations.  Sadly she does not seem to make them anymore, even her Esty shop does not stock them but I wanted to share them for the sheer joy they bring - really lovely.

Tuesday Talent - Cloth +Thread

Cloth + Thread is the business name of Jenni from Melbourne who has been making dolls since 2011.  She has always had a strong Pinterest presence and there you can see how her dolls have changed over that time. Look for dolls Made by Jenni for more variety.

I really enjoy her style of dolls, they are quite unusual and unique, using delicate fabrics and subtle colours they make a most sophisticated play doll.  Jenni makes her dolls with children in mind, for gentle play and all their clothes can be changed with a range of outfits also available. Lovely dresses and little jackets with the odd scarf, very pretty.

Cats, mice and even the odd elephant grace her pages, well worth a peep.  A lovely touch is that for every sale she makes she donates to Save the Children - the tally runs at the top of the site.

Tuesday Talent - Eszterda

Eszterda is the brand of Eszter Dobo, a very talented lady from Gyor by the Danube in Hungary.  She makes wonderful dolls, creatures and the best cats.

I love embroidery and the embroidery on these kitties is just so pretty, I like the style and the way she catches that cat look you get when they are planning something. All the facial detail is embroidered and the eyes are embroidered applique. Her cats have either a pretty skirt and shirt combo often with a little collar or they have an embroidered body with a little skirt.  I find them very appealing.

Her shop is on Etsy at 'ESZTERDAdesign' and there are lots of creatures and little dolls all featuring her embroidery - sadly no cats.  She has a strong presence on Pinterest if you want more cats and her pretty cat & doll combinations with matching embroidery. All well worth a look.

Tuesday Talent - Upper Dhali

Upper Dhali are beautiful dolls made by Louise in Australia.  The story of the unusual name for her dolls is enchanting and I won't spoil it, you will find it at www.upperdhali.com.au in the about section.

Her girls are not too big for small hands and the detailing of the embroidered faces are exquisite. In fact all the detailing is very lovely.  There are a series of collections and she is available for bespoke pieces and commissions.

Reading her website she comes from a long line of crafty ladies, all of whom have contributed to her becoming a doll maker.  She is a spiritual lady who puts more than just stuffing into her girls, they are individuals with characters all there own.  Have a look round the website for lovely stories and beautiful dolls.  Well worth a look.

Tuesday Talent - Katy Livings

Katy Livings is a very talented young mum of two who trained in embroidery while studying textiles at university.  She tells us that she has been sewing and stitching since she was four years old and that her grandma gave her her love of all things stitched.

Having worked for many large named companies she is using her obvious design skills to create a series of heirloom dolls.  She makes very pretty little ladies but it is her rabbits that have grabbed my attention and make me smile.  Many of her rabbits both boys and girls feature Liberty fabrics and a host of tiny accessories that just make these little creatures even more appealing.

She trades under the name Stitch and Sprig, with a website at http://www.stitchandsprig.com.  She also sells her work through Folksy and offers a commission service with them. There is a gentle Pinterest presence and work to be seen on Instagram but her website offers more details and a chance to view her blog.  Her photographs are lovely and shows you just how well work can be presented.  Have a peep at her work and enjoy, her dolls are beautiful.

Tuesday Talent - Aldegonde Ceelen

This lady is one of my favourite doll makers and I follow her on Pinterest.  She is a Dutch lady from Amsterdam and makes Waldorf style dolls. Aldegonde Ceelen is a childrens book illustrator who wanted her dolls to look like the illustrations that she draws.  The expressions of the dolls are kept neutral so that they generate a response from the child or grown up who plays with them.

The details are stunning, each one is unique, using traditional Waldorf doll techniques but with her own variations that have taken many years to develop.  There are two styles of dolls, my favoutite are the standing dolls. They are firmly stuffed and can stand freely on their own.  These dolls have more details to them, designed costumes and are more individual.  The eyes are very basic embroidery dots and the hair is wool yarn, simple but used so effectively.  They have joints so that they can sit as well.  The original sitting dolls where more like a traditional Waldorf but still with Adlgonde's refinements.

Check them out on Pinterest, they will melt your heart.They are more than just dolls but really soft sculptures. Should you wish to treat yourself or a loved one, Aldegonde still has an Etsy shop to take orders.  Lovely, lovely boys and girls from a very talented lady.

Tuesday Talent - Little Ragsmith

Little Ragsmith is a design company run by MA Fashion graduate Hannah Tucker-Salfield from Teddington in Middlesex.  Primarily she makes personalised interior items for children, which are lovely but her doll kit caught my eye.

At the right age my daughter would have loved to have a doll with her dress matching.  It would have become an instant favourite.  The doll design is very fetching, with lovely colours and stipy limbs.  She is a simple design, making a suitable toy for young children with no hidden dangers. The matching dress is equally fetching and any little girl would love it.

The doll and dress come in two colourways, a smart yellow, blue and orange or a softer pink, orange and blue.  A unique gift from Little Ragsmith on Etsy.

Tuesday Talent - Eszter Wiesner

I cannot imagine a prettier rag doll or rag mermaid for a little girl.  I found this lady on Etsy and she just makes me smile.  Proper rag dolls.

Eszter's shop is Cleo and Poppy, which has all kinds of treasures from rags dolls and mermaids to beautiful soft jersey dolls for little ones and gifts with young children in mind. Happy colours and lots of choice.  The dolls are a good size at twelve to sixteen inches and are a made with mostly vintage and recycled fabric.  Eszter even has a selection of dolls made with organic fabrics and stuffing.

Eszter is from Grass Valley in California, which sounds idyllic and makes her dolls there in a pet free, smoke free studio.  She states that all her dolls are made in the traditions of old fashioned craftswomanship, which sounds just grand.
