Tuesday Talent - Shelly Down of Gingermelon Dolls

Shelly Down is the very talented lady behind Gingermelon Dolls.  She is a wife and  mum of two from New Westminster, British Columbia who spends her days creating delicate patterns for dolls and animals mostly but not exclusively in felt.  She has just released her first book, My Felt Doll, which contains twelve patterns for cute little dolls and their outfits.

Her blog at 'gingermelondolls.blogspot.ca' is one of the best doll blogs on the net.  Infinitely generous there are tutorials and patterns for you to try and endless inspirations to spur you on. She shares all kinds of patterns and doll ideas, lots of links to other creative blogs and her passion & enthusiasm for sewing her creations.  Have a peep at the blog, you will find it worth your while and will be hooked just as I am. Gingermelon also is her shop on Etsy and there you will find lots and lots of pdf patterns for all kinds of projects as well as an excellent selection of the materials she uses for her creations such as wool felts, patterned felts and safety eyes.

I love this lady's sense of colour and eye for detail in her pretty dolls and cute creatures.  You also find that she is very seasonal and seems to have endless pattern ideas for every occasion.  I hope you enjoy her as much as I do.
