Jemima - The First Doll of 2016

Well first off a very happy New Year to you all everywhere, I wish everyone health and happiness - I hope 2016 is a good one.

This is Jemima and she is one of my Rhoda dolls, she was finished off first thing this morning so she is my first doll of the year and I am pleased to be able to share her with you.  She stands twenty inches tall and is made up of tea stained calico but only lightly to keep her complexion fresh.  Jemima is wearing a little net underskirt with an overskirt & knickers by Makower with the dress from the same range entitled Sophia.  She sports a little grey linen neckchief and a crocheted hat in grey.  Again I have used the blond roving by Trimits which is just lovely to work with.  I have started using net to underpin their dresses it gives a lovely lift and shape to the clothes which is very satisfying.

I plan to make lots of Rhoda dolls this year, to vary the pattern, the clothes and the size to give different effects.  I am going to make more fairy story doll that went so well last year & that I loved making, also many more birds. There will be more little tubby ladies and hopefully a new pattern but we shall see.  Big plans and I never seem to have enough time to do all I want.  I am always excited at the start of a new year, so much to look forward to.  So warmest wishes and the very best for 2016.
