Jennet, A Country Gentlewoman

Having bought in the yarn dyes to make gentlemen mice and rabbits I decided the fabric was so lovely that I would make a country gentlewoman. Reversing the fabrics so that the 'floral' fabric made a full skirt and the 'tweed' made the waistcoat. Really happy with the result and will definitely make more, a little burgundy girl is on the table.

Finding the linen for the shirts and the silk for the scarves, both French, has been a real labour of love. I just love how the colours blend and flow, really so very happy with these fabrics. The are Japanese Yarn Dyes from a quilt shop in Canada called Kallisti Quilts. That means that the thread was dyed before weaving and that the pattern in woven in so in effect both sides are the same in most cases. So lovely to work with and such a lovely quality.
