New Nurse Dolls without Travelling Capes

These are the new nurse dolls in uniform without a cape. Each sports a Norman Hartnell inspired uniform with a crisp white apron and cap. She carries a little leather first aid bag, that can be removed and has her watch, syringe and thermometer at the ready.
As always each doll has her hair hand styled from wool tops with a hand painted and embroidered face. Each of these little nurse dolls has a piece of amethyst to her heart for health and healing. With lavender flowers and lavender oil for a gentle scent. The lavender is such a fresh fragrance it reminds my of cleanliness and freshness.
Tiny but very sensible leather shoes with tiny buttons and cuffs and a decorative buckle finish her uniform. All in all a very practical nurse, smart and sensible, ready to help.
These are now listed on the Folksy shop and I am happy to make commissions with the right hair colour or uniform colour.
These three little ladies are each showing a different colour of uniform. I have been amazed at the variety of uniform colours around in the 60's and 70's. These nurse dolls are all based on the uniforms my mother and mother in law wore at the time. We have had a lovely time reminiscing but Mum got carried away and I had to remind her that they were only twelve inches tall. The most important placement was the nurse's watch, I was informed must always be worn on the left hand side.
I have to say it has been fun searching for all the tiny charms and accessories. There is so many amazing charms to find.
As I have said the nurses come with or without a cape. The dolls with capes, the capes do not come off and the uniform underneath does not have the details of the nurses without capes. For example, the collars are different, not going all the way around the neck if the doll is wearing a cape.
I find it is all about weight, you don't want bulky seams on someone so small. Each nurse sports an apron and cuffed sleeves with a white collar, tiny buttons and leather shoes. I like the difference between the two styles.
