For Christmas 2024 this is my Sugar Plum Fairy. I love Disney's Nutcracker and we recently saw the Royal Ballet's Nutcracker at the cinema. I just love the character. My little fairy is a tiny girl with old rose wool tops for hair and a hand painted face with lavender eyeshadow. Puff sleeves and lots of tiny ribbon and bells to her sleeves and her drawers. Finished with organza ribbon, tiny buttons with a little felt wand. Her dress is a silk and Liberty combination, the Liberty tana lawn called Lodden. She has a heavily beaded bodice clustered like the sweets of her realm. With silk wings to match her under kirtle and tiny plum suede shoes. She has lavender in her stuffing with a piece of amethyst to her heart. A gentle soul, I love her ornate nature.
Edith is a little midnight frog and the last of my frogs for this year. Dressed in a lovely Liberty Tana Lawn cotton print called Rosea with rich water lily flowers and lush leaves. This is teamed with a peacock blue shot cotton and a black tulle lace petticoat. Peacock blue leather shoes, stripy legs and cotton bloomers she sports and little sampler pillow that accents her colours. Her facial details are hand painted and hand embroidered with lots of French Knots and she smells sweetly of rosemary with a malachite crystal to her heart as a guardian stone. I love the blues with the green giving a very watery feel to her overall. Also just to mention we will be a Lytham Hall on Saturday 16th of November for just one day. The fair continues on the Sunday but we will only be there on the Saturday. It is free to enter, dog friendly with lots of quality makers and their work. Lytham Hall is a lovely visit, the park is delightful and there is a very scrummy tea room. The fair is open both days from 11am to 4pm and is very welcoming xx
Little Midnight Cora is one of lots of new animal dolls now listed on the shop. She is a true midnight bunny with a lovely Liberty print dress, the fabric being tana lawn called Jude's Garden. Teamed with a coral chambray she sports a little black sampler pillow, organza ribbon and tiny leather shoes. Her facial details are hand embroidered with black glass bead eye. She has a warm carnelian crystal to her heart and rosemary in her stuffing. A gentle thoughtful little girl.Just to let everyone know we will be at the Winter Art Fair in Lytham Hall for Saturday 16th only from 11 to 4. Lots of animals, witches as well as textile gifts, Imp Squeaks and porcelain beetles. It would be lovely to see you there and say hello. This is always a lovely event and well worth visiting.
Just want to say a huge thank you to Jay at Liverpool Alternative Bazaar for a truly great night. Brilliant atmosphere, lovely crowd, fab music and an all round great experience. If you have never attended this event get yourself down to Camp and Furnace in May next year for the Beltane Alternative Bazaar, you could not be made more welcome.Lots of quality alternative items you won't find on the highstreet. Some truly lovely work. Big thank you to Jay xx
My little Coraline with her tiny wicked doll. Wool felt coat with denim jeans and her tiny leather bag. The little doll is also sporting a wool felt rain coat with hood and has tiny button eyes with wool hair. From sticky out ears to her little dragonfly hair brooch I loved making her. This doll pattern has given me the chance to make a wide variety of dolls and I am enjoying using my vision to interpret classic characters. The Sugar Plum Fairy with a nutcracker is on the way for Christmas... and maybe a Snow Queen to boot.Coraline is detailed with lots of tiny buttons, a buckle to her bag and yellow welly boots. If you get the chance, come a see us at Liverpool Alternative Bazaar on Sunday between 4pm and 9pm at Camp and Furnace in Liverpool. It would be lovely to see you.
