Bryony and Haig, Winter Foxes

15% Discount Shopwide with POOK15
So happy to be able to paint the faces of these foxes again, they are my most complicated pattern. I love making them and joyfully I can now manage their tiny faces. Each is dressed in Makower's Hedgrow winter print showing the last of the autumn leaves. Russets, oranges and greys team to make a warm combination of textures and colours. Silk, yarn dyed cotton and wool felt are some of the fabrics used to make this pair. Each has citrine to their heart with my chamomile in their stuffing. Haig carries a woolfelt and leather bag and Bryony has her sampler sachet finishing off with leather shoes and lots of tiny buttons

A Pair of Winter Witches

Little winter witches, continuing the winter hedgerow theme. This fabric reminds me of frosted seed heads and love the combination with the russet shot cotton.

Each has citrine to their heart with my own chamomile flowers and a little roman chamomile oil.
Just to share, site wide on my Folksy Shop I am having an early Christmas sale. Using POOK15 you will be able to get 15% off all my dolls. I am unsure about the Black Friday furore and hand made work but everyone could do with a little help at the moment xx

Erinys, A Winter Witch

Erinys is a little winter witch doll in a wool cape. As autumn turns into winter this fabric collection held my attention. The cool greys of winter with a last flash of autumn colour. This will be a small collection of winter dolls using a series of fabrics from the Makower Hedgerow Collection. Not Christmas but winter.

Each doll will either have bergamot in their stuffing and carnelian or citrine with chamomile. Dried chamomile has such an earthy scent I love it in winter and find it calming.
As colours fade and cooler days arrive I am enjoying winter's approach. Nell Burgess, @nellburgess_studio had a lovely flatlay at the beginning of the week that just caught this mood.
Erinys is a Greek name taken from the names of Demeter the goddess of Agriculture. This time of year I remember the story of Demeter's search for her daughter Persephone who was taken by the god of the underworld and hidden from her. So she grieves her girl and the earth stills and cools. As autumn passes I find I am ready for winter, the bulbs are planted, the garden cut back and we are waiting the first frosts.

A Trio of Midnight Christmas Mice

Aurea is the first of the midnight Christmas trio. Dressed in a glorious black Christmas fabric with falling spruce and metallic golden snowflakes called Christmas Shimmer by Stof. I simply fell in love with the fabric and teamed with golden silk it makes for a bold festive doll. I think maybe they will be Marmite Mice, people will love the black or not!
Each of the trio has black snowflake obsidian to their hearts with frankinsense in their stuffing for a warming scent. Finished with golden organza ribbon, black buttons and a sampler sachet in blacks, greys and gold beads with a little golden pine cone.
I must admit I love them and I am particularly taken with gold lining on the bodice of the girls just giving a golden edge to the dress. You will have to tell me what you think about black Christmas mice xx

A Trio of Winter Berry Mice

Just had to share this little trio, I had too much fun making them not to share. Juniper, Myrtle and Arden are a trio of Christmas mice dressed in a Lewis and Irene berry print from the New Forest Winter range. Red and deep red berries abound on a cream ground teamed with scarlet linen and white tulle. Juniper's wool felt cape is a rich scarlet lined with a Japanese yarn dye cotton with compliment Arden's plus fours and lined berry waistcoat. Each mouse has rose quartz to their heart with rose petals to their stuffing. All are finished with tiny buttons, leather shoes and a sampler sachet with a golden pine cone.
I am working a trio of midnight Christmas mice with a black and golden print sprinkled with pale grey spruce and cones. Really enjoying them. Have a lovely Sunday and my warmest wishes xx

Spindle, A Christmas Robin

New tiny bird pattern, just the same size as the little mice. Spindle is embroidered front and back with stitch to her wings also.
So sad, this is the last of this wonderful Christmas berry fabric by Lewis and Irene. I have just a 4 inch square left! I will also list a trio of Winter Berry mice with a cream ground later today - after having my fifth Covid jab.
Have a lovely weekend and my warmest wishes xx
