Nightshade, A Midnight Mouse

 

This is Nightshade, a tiny midnight mouse. She is a hand embroidered mouse with little leather ears and tail. She is dressed in a Liberty tana lawn cotton called Faria Small Flowers, the midnight version in greys and dark greens with coordinating underskirts in black tulle mesh and white cotton lace bloomers. Her dress is finished with organza ribbon, tiny buttons and little leather shoes. She is a black mouse with black ears and tail, grey wishkers and an embroidered black nose.

She is softly stuffed with rose petals in her stuffing for a gentle scent and she has a tiny rose quartz at her heart. She has a brass ring to her back in case you want to place her on the wall.

I love colour and I am particularly drawn to the delicate prints you can find in Liberty Tana Lawn, a super light weight cotton. However, sometimes I find myself attracted to less colourful prints and I buy them and never use them. So the midnight series was born, little creatures in blacks and greys with dark prints that please me. This particular print with the moonlight flowers and midnight greens is called Faria Small Flowers and I can almost hear the moths in the foliage xx

Alice, A Wonderland Mouse

Little Alice is an embroidered harvest mouse with a tiny mushroom to her neck. Hand embroidered with leather ears and tail she has a rose quartz to her heart and rose petals to her stuffing. A pretty little mouse she is dressed in the most amazing fabric.

The fabric is wonderful, mushrooms and every kind of flower romps around a white ground. It has real feel of Alice in Wonderland when she was small and wandering around the flowers and the shrooms.

Liberty says 'Inspired by the dream-like world that Lewis Carroll imagined in his story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Curious Land depicts a magical floral world of enchanted flowers and peculiar mushrooms that bring the design to life. Daffodils, daisies, roses, wood anemone, bluebells and forget-me-nots are captured in fine detail and created with watercolour paints and pencils in the Liberty studio.'

Matilde, A Bobtail Bunny

 

This is Matilde, a bob tail bunny dressed in Liberty tana lawn. I like the new bigger ear shape, it makes her a little taller but it needed to be bigger. This little lady has rose petals to her stuffing with a few drops of rose absolute for a gentle scent with a rose quartz crystal at her heart for love. As always she is finished with tiny buttons, organza ribbon, little leather shoes and a sampler sachet to finish her outfit. Her facial details are all hand embroidered and each little rabbit is slightly different as stitching so small makes for difference.
My choice of fabric always determines the look of my dolls. I love Liberty fabrics both new, used and vintage and will search dilligently for the right one. This lovely blue, pink and red combination is a tana lawn called Eva Belle. Eva Belle is inspired by a design from the Liberty Fabrics archive, originally created between the 1910s and 1930s in Jacobean needlework style. A Tree of Life arrangement, it features stylised florals with winding leaves and intricately shaded petals in soft jewel-tone colourways.
This version is Eva Belle A but the pattern is to be found in a variety of colourways from tonal blue to warm autumn hue. Truly lovely.
The fabric choice is teamed with a red shot cotton and a pretty white lace. With such a tiny doll I find everything is about weight, you cannot use a heavy fabric and the combination of a tana lawn, which is so light weight and a super light weight shot cotton works so well.

Vervain, A Little Vixen

 

Not usual for me to post twice in a weekend but so excited our new studio lights have arrived. I have been brave and invested in new lighting so that I am not completely limited to sunny days. They make such a difference, I still have to alter the photographs but these were taken at four o clock with the sun behind the woods. My photographs are far from professional but not being tied to the weather is wonderful 

Vervain is a tiny vixen dressed in a lovely Liberty Lawn called Fairytale, beautiful spring blooms in pinks and yellows. She has rose petals in her stuffing, hand embroidered features and a little foxy tail. She has a rose quartz crystal at her heart for love and is finished with tiny buttons, organza ribbon and little leather shoes.

Morwenna, A Bunny in Libery Lawn

 

Just to let everyone know. If you live in Chorley, Lancashire there is a lorry leaving on Saturday 5/3/22 to Ukraine. They are taking pet supplies and you can donate at the Polish Shop in Chorley on Steeley Lane. They are particularly asking for dog and cat food and carriers, as folk are leaving Ukraine carrying their cats without a carrier. Dog leads and harnesses are also asked for.

This little bunny is Morwenna, she is dressed in a Liberty Tana Lawn. With turquoise to her heart and lavender in her stuffing for a gentle scent. A sweet little spring bun xx
